    2022 SEI Pre-College Field Studies Teacher Recommendation

    The Sewanee Environmental Institute offers a two-week summer program for talented high school students, who are passionate about the outdoors and interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in the study of the environment. The program is led by faculty at the University of the South and utilizes its 13,000 acre campus atop the ecologically diverse Cumberland Plateau. 

    In your recommendation, please briefly comment on the applicant’s interest in the environment and their strengths and weaknesses as a student and community member.  Also please address the applicant’s ability to contribute constructively to an outdoor education program and to the life of a residence hall.
