Directed by Dr. Pete Smith, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW by William Shakespeare is a riotous comedy which features the madcap Petruchio who woos Katherine, the perfect wife in every respect but one--she is an intolerable shrew.  From their first explosive meeting, Petruchio subjects Kate to a series of indignities under the pretext of kindness.  By the final scene of the play, Katherine defends marriage as hotly as she denounced it in the beginning.
